This term in Year 6 we have been learning about Holy Island and the Lindisfarne Gospels. In science we learnt about branching keys and did some fun experiments where we tried to separate sand from salt water and create salt crystals. In Art we made a 3D model of Lindisfarne Monastry and paint it.

As one of our tasks, Erin and I got to write a play for our class assembly (see pictures above). It was called “Monks, Murder and Mayhem.” It was about the Lindisfarne Gospels and the miracles that were performed on the journey to take St Cuthbert’s coffin to its resting place, all while trying to escape the Vikings! It was fun to write and it was even better to perform it on stage.
