Ivy Road Primary School

At Ivy Road, we CAN!

Nursery

Children can start Nursery the term after their 3rd birthday.

Nursery hours are currently 8.45am to11.45am.

If you would like to apply for a place, please complete the Nursery application form (this can be found under the "forms" page) and return to the school office.

If you think that you may be eligible for 30 hours free childcare, you will need to apply by visiting Best Start in Life..  If you are eligible, you will need to give the school office your eligibility code together with your National Insurance number. Your child would stay with us until 2.45pm including a one hour lunch break in which time they will need a packed lunch or a school lunch can be purchased.

Please note that school uniform in Nursery is not compulsory although many parents like to purchase a school sweatshirt and a book bag.  Both these items are available to order online at www.totstoteams.co.uk.

Nursery – charging information

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours of free early education for 38 weeks of the year, which is known as the Universal hours. Your child can start claiming their 15 hours the term after their third birthday.  They may also be eligible for an additional 15 hours, making it a total of 30 hours per week.

If you have a 2 year old and receive some form of government support, you may get up to 15 hours of childcare a week. Some working parents can also get this.

To check for eligibility for either of the above, please visit Best Start in Life

Children will receive free milk and a snack at no cost.   Parents can provide their child with a packed lunch, or purchase a school meal.

We ask families to leave nappies & spare clothing in a bag for use in school.
