School Meals
Our school meals are changing...
We are excited to announce that Dolce - a family run, third-generation caterer – will be providing your child’s school lunches from Monday 15th April 2024. For more information about the school meals, please click the ‘Welcome Parent Leaflet’ from Dolce located above this text.
Until the Easter holidays, school meals will be provided by North Tyneside Catering Services and up until then meals should be paid for via ParentPay as normal.
We will be implementing a new software called SchoolGrid for the payment of your child's school meals once Dolce take over in April. You will hopefully be able to access this by the end of the week. All children, including those in receipt of Free School meals, must be registered with SchoolGrid.
With SchoolGrid, you can easily pay for your child's meals with just a few clicks. To get started, SchoolGrid will be sending you a welcome email with instructions on how to activate your account and create your password. Please note that in order for your account to be created, we will be sharing your information with SchoolGrid. You can view SchoolGrid’s Privacy Policy on the following link:
https://app.schoolgrid.co.uk/termsofuse/Privacy-Policy.pdf
SchoolGrid support can be contacted via email on support@schoolgrid.co.uk or by telephone on 01506 300310
If your child has dietary requirements or allergens these must be indicated on SchoolGrid prior to Monday 15th April 2024. Again, please see attached the ‘Welcome Parent Leaflet’ from Dolce and the SchoolGrid ‘Parent Leaflet’ on how to do this.
Yours faithfully

Our school dinners are prepared on the premises. We offer home cooked meals, including a vegetarian option each day, sandwiches and a salad bar. The menu is designed to give children a healthy balanced diet.
Our Pantomime Funday, Valentine’s Day, Red Nose Day and Parents’ Day themes have been very successful.
Our catering staff are: School Cook – Mrs Pattinson with Catering Assistants, Ms Murray and Mrs Skingsley.
Our current school meal information which will be replaced after the Easter holidays:
How can I pay for my child’s meal?
All children in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 are eligible for Universal Infant Free School Meals and do not have to pay for meals. If your child is in year 3, 4, 5 or 6 the cost of a school lunch is £2.60 unless your child is entitled to free school meals.
Paying for school meals
Please email parentpay@northtyneside.gov.uk with the following information:
- Name of your child
- Name of the school
and ask for a ParentPay account. ParentPay is managed by North Tyneside Council Catering Services, not the school.
All parents need to activate their ParentPay account even if your child is entitled to free school meals as the system will be used to communicate updates about your school meals service, as well as a payment system.
On the ParentPay system, you will be able to pay for meals by debit/credit card, check when your child has a lunch, check your account balance and see what’s for lunch.
What if my child has an allergy?
Special diets will be catered for. If your child does not normally stay for a lunch and requires a special diet please contact Catering Services in the first instance. You can contact us on 0191 643 8355 or by emailing catering.services@northtyneside.gov.uk
