  • A message from NTLT re Star awards...

    Fri 26 May 2023 K Nelson

NTLT Star Awards 2023 Finalists Announced

The BAFTAs, The Oscars… The NTLT Star Awards

With over 300 nominations for the NTLT Star Awards this year, reaching the finalist stage is certainly up there with being nominated for a BAFTA or an Oscar and we couldn’t be prouder of the young people who are representing their schools and community in the 12 awards this year.

The Star Awards is North Tyneside Learning Trust’s annual celebration of the outstanding non-academic achievements of the children and young people from around the Trust and this year it is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The first Star Awards ceremony was held back in 2014 at the Village Hotel and since then we have recognised the phenomenal achievement of 368 finalist and this year, we will be adding another 48 names to the NTLT Star Awards Hall of Fame.

Selecting the finalists is the unenviable job of a panel of experts from within the Trust and our main sponsor Vision for Education. The toughest job of all however, selecting the winner in each award category, is handed over to our award sponsors who take the job very seriously:

Well this is some task... Alasdair and I have had a long discussion about this and everyone one of them are amazing and all deserving of recognition!”

Martin Westgate, Director, Robertson CE Limited (award sponsor)

Special letters have now been sent out to all schools with a finalist notifying them of this outstanding achievement and inviting them to the glittering award ceremony at St James Park on 13th July 2023 and we can’t wait to meet them along with their families, friends and teachers.

Congratulations to everyone and good luck at the finals.

  • World Book Day

    Fri 17 Feb 2023 K Nelson

    Dear Parent / Carer

This year, the children will be celebrating ‘World Book Day’ on Thursday 2nd March and we would like to invite them to dress up as an interesting word! The word can be any type of word (noun, verb, adjective etc.) and can fit any topic. The choice is entirely yours! We can’t wait to see how creative their ideas are.
As in previous years, children will receive a £1 book token that can be spent on a wide range of £1 books that are widely available at supermarkets and bookshops. You can discover the books on offer at the ‘World Book Day’ website: www.worldbookday.com. The token can also be used to get £1 off any children’s book.
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask your child’s class teacher.

    Yours sincerely
    Miss C McAdam

We will be celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee on Thursday 26th May. The day will have a red, white and blue Jubilee theme and we are asking children to come in dressed in red, white and blue non uniform.

Our school choir will be performing a song for the Jubilee which we will be recording and sharing on Twitter and Facebook.

Please also see below details from Catering Services about our Royal Platinum Jubilee Picnic Lunch.

Remember, this is the last day of term.  School re opens to pupils on Tuesday 7th June.

The Royal Platinum Jubilee Picnic Lunch – Thursday 26th May 2022

We would like to invite all children in school to our exciting Royal Platinum Jubilee Picnic Lunch on Thursday 26th May. We have chosen some traditional picnic lunch items, a selection of sandwiches, mini sausage roll or cheese lattice, vegetable sticks and a baked snack, followed by a Jubilee celebration cupcake.  All other diets and medical diets will be catered for.

The royal picnic will be free to all pupils in reception, year 1 & 2 and will cost £2.25 for pupils in Year 3, 4, 5 & 6, unless entitled to free school meals (benefit based) and every child will receive a Platinum Jubilee fun activity sheet.

We hope that you can support your school on this day by sending your child in for a school meal and to have some Jubilee fun too.
